Jazz at Five is a downtown Madison tradition since 1994. Each year the series consistently provides exceptional free jazz concerts in a stunning locale—the 100 block of State Street, where State Street meets the Capitol Square. The Madison New Music Festival celebrates classical music written in our lifetimes, with a spotlight on Wisconsin performers and composers.
Since 2016, the Madison New Music Festival has served hundreds of Madisonians with exciting, fresh new music of the last 50 years. We have featured over 60 musicians, more than 10 Wisconsin premieres, and three world-premieres.
With music and dance from unique and unexpected parts of the world, this festival is a celebration of cultures and takes place on the famous Memorial Union Terrace and the Willy Street Fair every fall. Featuring great artists and amazing Terrace atmosphere, it will be an experience you will remember for years to come.
